YIKES! We all turned 60 years old — most of us. And yes, children, we’re still partying, Jim Kuga hosted The Elites, now known as The Usual Bunch of Idiots, one more time at his condo at Napili Shores in Maui in late August 2005, as Hurricane Katrina inundated New Orleans.  Of course the condo had no TV.

Later, in October 2005, RadGrads63 met in Las Vegas at the Main Street Station for lunch as we toasted  60 years with our old new friends from Radford High.

The Idiots in Maui included left to right:  Rollie Flugum, Jan and Dick Olivas, George Tonner, Cyndi Lee Flugum, Jan Tonner, Lyman and Jane Coley Rigby, Jim and Ginnie Kuga.

The Rigbys brought 5 lbs of fresh shrimp from Florida and we grabbed stuff from the herb garden to BBQ up 2 nights of good eating.  On our last morning together, we had our usual breakfast next door and drove the tourists crazy.

Main Street Station attendees included Rodney and Diane Kamalii, Frances Ching, George Uyeno, Lloyd Marshall, Pam Kang Shin (who lives in Vegas), Dorothy Takahashi Kekaula, Kathleen Onaga Nakamura, Ernie Onaka, Marion Shiraishi Snyder, Twinkles Swafford Reitmeister, Toni Estrella Hatfield, Lori Bojac Bonilla, Henry Keouhouhou, Gordon Miyasato, Hank Ragabo, Alice Rittenhouse, Ellie Barnes Rolark and her two sisters, Rollie and Cyndi Lee Flugum, Arlene Stout Williams, Lillian Kamihara Takai and her mom and Henry Fujioka. Del Matheus (Class of 62) surprised Arlene with his appearance.

Post Reunion Partying at the Grand Canyon

The six of us crawled into a big van with Rollie Flugum as driver for a 6-1/2 hour drive to the south rim of the Grand Canyon (because we stopped at Hoover Dam for some dam fun). OK, we laughed all the way to the canyon and all the way back. The Idiots included Jan Smith and Dick Olivas, Jane Coley Rigby, Arlene Stout Williams, Rollie and Cyndi Flugum.  We vowed to do this again!  Children, you MUST see the Grand Canyon! 

Lonnie Hysong caught up with all of us at the Cheesecake Factory at Caesar’s Palace, because, well, we love cheesecake and we love Lonnie!  We also went over to the Venetian and annoyed the accordian player.
