NANCY ARNOLD (RIGGINS)

Although I only attended Radford for my sophomore year, I've always thought of that year as one of the best of my life! I'm married to a wonderful man, my Bill, and between us we have 3 gorgeous daughters and 4 beautiful grandchildren. Bill has been with TWA for 35 years and I with Federal Express/Flying Tigers for almost 30. We love to travel and are looking forward to seeing everyone next year in Maui. Would love to hear from all of you who might remember me (and even those who don't!).

RON ATHA

Went into the Air Force in '66-'70. Went to Univ of Hawaii '70-''74, didn't graduate but did work in Hawaii Public TV for 4 years while in school.

Received the first Internship awarded there for Producer/Director and worked in that for several years. Left paradise and moved to Portland, Oregon (why you ask???) to be near to Big Foot, which I never saw hide nor hair of. Only took me nine years to figure out big foot just wasn't going to appear (fast huh). Left Portland for San Diego, which I saw on vacation one year and have been here since. Travel back and forth several times a year back home to see my family. I was an electrician for over 17 years (5 of which were at Pearl Harbor as a Marine Electrician). Got tired of climbing ladders and cross-trained into the computer industry and eventually got my B.S. in Computer Science and presently work in that field as an IS/IT guy in the health care industry. My personal interests are tennis, sailing (I crew on a racing boat), mountain biking, my wife, having fun and stuff la 'dat.

DAVE BARTLETT

After graduation, I left the islands, came east, and continued my education.  To gain enough credits and needed classes for most colleges/universities, I attended Augusta Military Academy in Augusta, VA.  After one year, I went to Shepherd College (now University) in Shepherdstown, WV.  I attended Shepherd for 5 years, where I earned teaching degrees in mathematics, physical education, and social studies.  I met my wife, Linda Dodson of Berkeley Springs, WV, at Shepherd. after graduation, Linda and I were married in August of '69.  We both began our teaching careers that same month in Prince George's County, MD.  I taught math to Jr.High students, and coached football and baseball.  After one year teaching in Md., we moved to Clarke County, VA.  I spent the next 28 years teaching at the middle school and high school,   coached middle school boys' basketball, HS varsity football, baseball, tennis, golf, girls' varsity basketball, and college tennis.  I also served as middle school athletic director for 14 years.  In 1998, I changed school systems.  I traveled to Loudoun Co., VA.  I taught algebra and geometry for the next 6 years, but no coaching.  We moved in 1999 to Frederick Co., VA.  In 2004, I retired from full time teaching.  For the next 5 years, I taught part-time in Fred. Co. remediating math students.  This past June I retired completely from teaching after a 40-year career.  To keep busy I have been working parttime at our local golf course for the past 6 years.

Family:  Linda and I have two boys (Cary-39, Patrick-31).  Cary is a mortgage loan officer, married (Melissa), has two children (Lauren-5, Audrey-3).  He lives minutes from us.  Patrick is a CPA and director with McGladry accounting firm in Charlotte, NC.  He is married (Brooke) and has a daughter (Brayden-3).  So 3 granddaughters keep me busy as well.  My father retired as an admiral in the Navy.  He was the Deputy Officer in charge of the construction of the Arizona Memorial, and commander in chief of all Seabees during the Viet Nam battles.  We lost him 3 years ago to cancer.

I enjoy many hobbies to keep me active:  golfing, tennis, reading, gardening, traveling, beaching, and of course family.  We have a beach house in Nags Head, NC, and I visit there many times each year.  We still have family homes on the North Shore.  My stepmom spends summers there, while Linda and I get there whenever we can.

Just recently I was absolutely floored when I got a phone call from Dan "The Man" Mickel.  He and I were best of buds while at Radford.  His sweetie, Carolyn Leavitt, was my best female friend. My memories of classmates have faded over these 46 years, but Dan has jarred my memory somewhat.
